I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
